Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar has noted that construction work is on the verge to finish at Assiut Plateau road project, situated in western Assiut governorate, with implementation rate reaching 96% up to date, Invest-Gate reports.
The two-lane highway, which measures 22.6 kilometers in length and 22-33 meters in width, will link Assiut with Cairo-Assuit Western Desert Road, El Gazzar explained in an official statement on July 3, adding that phases I and II are 12 and 10.6 kilometers long, respectively.
During a meeting held in February, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly urged the officials to pay attention to the quality of implementation of Assiut Plateau. He added that this road project is set to have a significant role in achieving the desired development in the country, particularly at this stage.
