A Ministerial committee in the kingdom of Bahrain reportedly submitted a proposal to the cabinet, recommending awarding major construction contracts to domestic and Saudi companies, according to Reuters Zawya on Wednesday.
The report stated that major contracts for projects such as the King Hamad Causeway need not be exclusively awarded to foreign contractors but that several stages could be undertaken by domestic and Saudi companies.
The King Hamad Causeway is a 25 kilometer long link between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, proposed to run parallel to the existing King Fahd Causeway.
