Cairo will host Startupbootcamp, one of the global entrepreneurial competitions, next Saturday to select the best Egyptian tech-enabled startups helping build communities based on the ‘smart cities’ concept, Invest-Gate reports.
“Smart City Dubai Challenge” will bring the Startupbootcamp accelerator to Cairo that will select from 15 Egyptian smart applications and platforms. A total of 50 applicants from Egypt have demonstrated their interest.
Dubai is gearing up for Expo 2020, giving an incredible opportunity to startups aiming to showcase their technologies and work with partners.
Todd O’Brien, Managing Director for Startupbootcamp’s Smart City Dubai program, will be among the jurist panel that will meet on Saturday with 15 Egyptian startups pitching their ideas to the panel in the Greek Campus, Egypt’s largest entrepreneurial hub located off Tahrir square.
The program focuses on evolving technologies industries, including artificial intelligence, blockchain, sustainable living, the Internet of Things, and mobility.
Startupbootcamp has already accelerated and invested in nearly 500 startups around the world that have raised more than EUR 240 mn and have a combined valuation of EUR 1 bn.
