Cairo to Relocate Famous Commercial Market

Around 10,000 meters of lands have been allocated to build a commercial market relocating the famoed El Tonsy market from the unsafe slum areas in Cairo, Invest-Gate reports.

The new market will include 783 commercial units, garages, and a parking lot that can accommodate 500 vehicles, according to a Cairo governorate statement.

An additional of 3,000 square meters will be added to the market for street vendors to commence their commercial activities as well.

“Autostrad Road will extend to reach the market alongside the construction of entrances and exits of the market complying with the nature of the existing roads,” said Cairo Governor Atef Abdel Hamid.

The previous area where the market currently exists will be developed to decrease traffic congestion from Sayeda Aisha, El Emam, and Autostrad areas.
