City Edge Development, Egypt’s national real estate developer, announced its contribution with EGP 10 mn to the Tahya Misr Fund, Invest Gate reports.
The contribution aims to boost the Egyptian government’s efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) through implementing the precautionary measures, in line with the World Health Organization (WHO), to safeguard the health of Egyptians and the economy from the impact of COVID.
“We believe that the best way to combat coronavirus in Egypt is to unite the efforts of all institutions, whether civil society, public or private sectors,” Ashraf Salman, Chairman of City Edge Developments, states.
“Tahya Misr Fund is best qualified to support mitigating the impact of the virus. This is why our board of directors decided to contribute to the fund, and thus support the Egyptian government’s efforts to limit the spread of this virus,” adds Salman.
Tamer Abdel Fattah, the fund’s acting executive director, highlighted the importance of community participation in times of crisis, praising the role of many businessmen, companies, public figures, and celebrities in supporting the fund’s efforts.
He adds that this is reflected positively on the size of the contributions to the fund, whether in cash or in-kind contributions, in addition to the active participation from the banking sector under the auspices of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
