Completion of 2 Major Road Projects by Next April

Chairman of Sinai Reconstruction Authority Mohsen Saeed has unveiled that the June 30 Axis is 94% completed and is expected to be finalized by next April, while the implementation rate at western Assiut Plateau road project reached 75%, with expectations to be completed during the same month, Invest-Gate reports.

This came during Saeed’s meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Major General Mahmoud Nassar, head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction, to follow up on the operational position of the road and bridge projects located at the western Assiut Plateau, according to a ministerial statement on February 12.

During the meeting, Nassar revealed that the June 30 Axis is a free two-way route with a total length of 95 kilometers and a width of 80 kilometers, in addition, it will start from South Port Said until it intersects with Cairo-Ismailia desert road. It includes five traffic lanes in each direction, 17 bridges, 18 tunnels for cars and pedestrians, six service stations, four fee collection stations, and 20 contracting companies.

Commenting on the importance of the axis project, he stated that it is the main transport hub serving the projects being implemented to develop the Suez Canal Axis, and thus, it contributes to the acceleration of development rates of those ventures. It also links Sinai and Delta areas, while aiding in the implementation of future plans for the tributaries of Mansoura, El Matariya, Galala Mountain, and the New Administrative Capital (NAC).

Speaking on the western Assiut Plateau road project, he explained that it is a two-way route that connects Assiut governorate with Cairo-Assiut western desert road through the Assiut Plateau, with a length of 22.6 kilometers and a width of 22-33 meters, according to the statement.

By the end of the meeting, Madbouly urged the officials to commit to the set deadlines, while paying attention to the quality of implementation. He pointed out that these two road projects are set to have a significant role in achieving the desired development in the country at this stage.
