Construction Works At Gov’t District Of New Administrative Capital Moves Ahead

The government is moving ahead with construction works at the governmental district of the New Administrative Capital project, Invest-Gate reports.

The announcement was made during a meeting between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Mostafa Madbouli, Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Kamel el-Wazir, among other senior officials responsible for following up on the new capital project.

“The capital’s new governmental district, which will be built over two phases on an area of one mn square meters, is expected to accommodate 100,000 civil servants,” says Presidency Spokesman Alaa Youssef.

El Sisi orders major developers in the project to make maximum use of lands as much as possible, while reducing construction costs, according to a statement released by the State Information Service (SIS).

The president has also ordered the preparation of a study on the traffic in the new city’s area to prevent congestions.
