Dubai-based developer DAMAC Properties has revealed the completion of the raft foundation works for tower B at its AYKON City, a multi-tower master development overlooking Dubai Canal and Sheikh Zayed Road, Invest-Gate reports.
The announcement comes as DAMAC issued a press release on Thursday, May 31, underlining that setting the major foundation saw over 200,000 cubic feet of concrete poured within a 24-hour period, the same amount entailed to fill 75 swimming pools.
Following the completion of foundation work, construction will commence on the main columns, ahead of the pouring for another slab, which will comprise the tower’s first basement level, the statement adds.
“This foundation slab sets the stage for accelerating development at this iconic project, and we look forward to seeing the tower rise up to complement the existing skyline,” Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications and Marketing Niall McLoughlin is quoted as saying.
In its statement, McLoughlin highlights that the four mn-square-feet multi-tower development is one of Damac’s flagship master developments in Dubai as it strives to offer its residents and visitors the convenience of an entire city within its complex, “with an abundance of services and amenities to suit all ages and lifestyles.”
The development plan is situated on the Eastern and Western sides of Sheikh Zayed Road at the Safa Park intersection and consists of residences, serviced apartments, a hotel, and an office space.
