Minister of Investment and International Co-operation Sahar Nasr signs a protocol of cooperation with Minister of Electricity Mohamed Shaker to clear a plot of land, dedicated to the nuclear power plant in Dabaa, of landmines at a total cost of EGP 2 mn, Invest-Gate reports.
Nasr says, “The plot has an area of 4,533 hectares or 11,000 feddans; and the agreement goes in tandem with the directives issued by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to clear the northwest coast of landmines and to start implementing key national projects that can help improve the living standards of Egyptians and create job opportunities for young people in those areas.”
Nasr adds that the government is ready to exert every effort needed to clear the land of mines, with a view to injecting new investments and creating jobs in the northwest part of the country.
“A number of investors have become interested in injecting new investments in the northwest part of the country in the light of the government’s move to establish a proper infrastructure there,” Nasr says.
