Head of New Damietta Development Authority Mohamed Ragab said the authority has started delivering plots of the fifth and complementary fifth phases of Beit Al Watan’s lands in New Damietta for Egyptian expats, Invest-Gate reports.
The authority started delivering the said land areas starting from January 27 and will continue until February 14, Ragab said in a ministerial statement on January 22.
The project is part of the state’s keenness to provide adequate housing for its expatriate citizens, aiming to provide them with access to government housing services as well as raise the availability of hard currency as the value of acquired land plots is paid in foreign currency.
Beit Al Watan has been launched in seven new cities: New Cairo, 6th of October, Badr, New Damietta, New Aswan, New Qena, and New Assiut. Through this project, the housing ministry is offering about 4,500 lands for Egyptian expatriates, with expectations to generate revenues estimated at USD 2.5 bn.
