Delivery of New Cairo Middle Income Housing Delayed

The Ministry of Housing announced that it will not be able to deliver the first phase of the middle-income social housing project in New Cairo within the scheduled time frame, which was set for June 2016,  Invest Gate reported.

The contractors have yet to complete the construction and completion of the units according to sources at the Ministry. Only approximately 70% of the project is complete, due to some problems encountered with the purchased land.

The Ministry expects that the units will be delivered after mid-September. In north Qoronfol City, there are  10,920 units in 455 buildings, while Alandulus I has 1,680 units over 70 buildings, and Alandulus II has 696 units over 29 buildings.

The New Urban Communities Authoriy (NUCA) is funding the project and the Armed Forces Engineering Authority is implementing it.
