Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing for Infrastructure Affairs, holds a meeting with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to inspect current and planned drinking water and sanitation projects in Egypt, Invest-Gate reports.
The meeting is attended by representatives of the Project Management Unit (PMU).
During the meeting, Ismail touches on areas of future cooperation between the drinking water and sanitation facilities sector at the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities and EBRD, within the framework of the national strategy for the drinking water and sanitation facilities sector towards the transformation into a sustainable development model in line with the state’s vision.
In the same context, representatives of EBRD express their willingness to contribute to drinking water and sanitation projects, which were not included in the projects that the private sector will participate in implementing.
At the end of the meeting, Ismail stresses the importance of continuous follow-up and evaluation of performance in implementing projects to achieve the required results, especially projects that are characterized by economic, environmental, and social sustainability, and contribute to advancing growth rates, creating job opportunities, and preserving the health of Egyptian citizens.
