Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing for Infrastructure Affairs, has led a meeting to discuss the current status of wastewater and industrial sewage systems in Robbiki City, Invest-Gate reports.
The aim is to protect the environment and ensure high-quality utility services in the city.
The meeting included key officials from the Ministry of Housing, the Industrial Development Authority, the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater, Cairo’s Sewage Company, the Ministry’s Project Management Unit (PMU), and the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA).
Moreover, Ismail emphasized the Ministry of Housing’s strong commitment to supporting industrial cities and encouraging investment by addressing challenges through regular monitoring of utility services across different areas. He highlighted the importance of full coordination between the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities and the Ministry of Trade and Industry to create an optimal investment environment.
During the meeting, representatives from Cairo’s Sewage Company presented an overview of the wastewater and industrial sewage systems in Robbiki City.
Furthermore, this included details on the existing industrial wastewater treatment plant, ongoing rehabilitation and expansion efforts, and the standard procedures for operating and maintaining these facilities.
The company underscored its success in managing the system despite the complexities of treating industrial wastewater.
Also, the attendees agreed on the importance of adhering to the required standards for treating wastewater from Robbiki’s industrial treatment plant, following relevant laws and regulations. Ismail stressed the need to advance the wastewater systems to protect existing investments and the environment.
Ismail called for regular monitoring to ensure the timely completion of upgrades and expansions, effective reuse of treated water, and adherence to operational and maintenance standards.
Notably, coordinated meetings between all stakeholders will continue to address challenges and develop actionable plans.
