In order to discuss joint cooperation in establishing smart cities, smart sustainable transport and seawater desalination, Deputy Minister of Housing for National Projects Khaled Abbas meets the Swedish Ambassador to Cairo Hakan Emsgard and his accompanying delegation, Invest- Gate reports

According to the ministerial statement, the two sides have agreed to hold a workshop to study the proposals and financing solutions submitted by the Swedish side and how to benefit from them in implementing the projects being implemented by the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA).

Furthermore, Abbas explains that the Ministry of Housing, in cooperation with the United Nations Human Settlements Program (Habitat), is working to support the planning, implementation and management of sustainable urban development in the Greater Cairo Region.

He further points out that one of this project’s outputs is the planning and design of the Rapid Bus Transportation “BRT” project to serve new cities, and link them to their urban scope in the Greater Cairo Region, the ministerial statement adds.
