Diriyah Season: Unveiling a New Era of Cultural Exploration and Immersive Experiences

Diriyah, the birthplace of the first Saudi state, has launched its new season with a renewed spirit that repositions this historic landmark as a vibrant cultural hub and a destination for global creativity. Across its ancient mud-brick architecture and atmospheric courtyards, Diriyah continues to blend heritage with modern experiences, offering visitors an immersive journey through Saudi Arabia’s cultural identity, Invest-Gate reports.

This year’s Diriyah Season goes beyond a traditional events calendar, presenting a curated experience where history meets contemporary culture. The season aims to place Diriyah at the heart of Saudi Arabia’s creative and cultural scene, celebrating the roots of the nation while presenting its heritage in a modern, engaging form.

As part of the Saudi Winter Season 2025/2026, Diriyah is hosting more than ten major activations across its diverse districts. These activations transform the historical courtyards into dynamic, interactive spaces, encouraging visitors from around the world to explore, connect, and experience the city’s evolving cultural landscape.

One of the season’s key highlights is Hal Al Qusoor, an experience that transports visitors to the ancient palaces of Diriyah through immersive storytelling set against historic mud-brick structures enhanced with atmospheric lighting. Meanwhile, Layali Diriyah, located in the Historic Palm Oasis near the UNESCO-listed Turaif District, offers nightly live events, refined dining experiences, and artistic performances, creating a setting that merges Saudi hospitality with contemporary elegance.

In Souq Al-Mawsim, located in the restored Al-Tawalie Area, visitors can explore a reimagined version of Diriyah’s historic market. Each edition highlights the culture of a different country through authentic heritage displays, celebrating global diversity within the heart of historic Diriyah.

Diriyah Season plays a central role in reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s growing position as an international tourism destination, spotlighting the Kingdom’s rich heritage and varied tourism offerings. The launch of “Saudi Winter 2025” further enhances this mission, building on five years of strong tourism growth driven by Vision 2030 and the national target of welcoming 150 million visitors by 2030. The winter program features more than 1,200 tourism products and over 600 exclusive offers, including discounted and family-oriented packages.

It has never been easier to visit Saudi Arabia, with continually expanding visa initiatives. The eVisa program now covers 66 countries and special administrative regions, in addition to the GCC residents visa and the free 96-hour Stopover Visa. Holders of UK, US, or Schengen visas, as well as residents of the UK, US, or EU countries, are also eligible for the instant eVisa. Saudi Arabia is now connected to 175 destinations worldwide, with 14 new international routes added in 2024.
