Dubai Approves More Than 1,800 Holiday Homes

1,805 residential units in Dubai have to date been approved as holiday homes, according to a press release by Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce (DTCM) from Monday.

This comes after a decision by the DTCM earlier this year, allowing homeowners to apply for a holiday home permit for their property in order to rent it out to tourists.

The statement said that after the update of regulations in May this year, a total of 109 homeowners submitted applications of which 39 have already been approved.

The requirements for approval include meeting the required quality, health and safety standards and “all necessary amenities and guest services, as well as insurance coverage and wider community integration.“
