Dubai’s Electricity and Water Authority has begun with the construction of its new headquarters, a zero energy building, in Al Jadaf, according to a press release on Saturday.
The new headquarters, dubbed Al-Sheraa, will reportedly be the tallest and largest zero energy building in the world and is designed to accommodate 5,000 employees.
The building will be equipped with 16,500 square meters of photovoltaic solar panels and 10,000 square meters of Building Integrated Photovoltaic, enabling Al-Sheraa to generate over 7,000 megawatt hours of renewable energies annually.
Dewa aims to complete and inaugurate the building in 2019.
