Nakheel signed a joint venture with Centara Hotels and Resorts for an AED 200 million beachfront resort on Dubai’s Deira Islands project, the National reports.
The 295,900 square feet resort is Centara’s first in the emirate and the second inaugurated hotel as part of a plan to build five in the Deira area. The hotel encompasses 500 rooms following RIU’s 800-room all-inclusive resort. Centara’s resort will feature a water park, dining facilities, business center, kids’ club, as well as a spa and fitness centre. The resort is scheduled to throw a soft opening in 2019 prior to the grand inauguration the following year.
The Dubai-based real estate developer had first revealed its partnership with Centara in October 2015. The Deira Islands project is a group of four islands containing a total of 15.3 square km of landmass, adding a new 40 km stretch of coastline, 21 km of which will be beachfront.
