EDIC Developments has announced the launch of two landmark projects in East and West Cairo: DR5, a state-of-the-art medical project in New Cairo, and Celestia, the largest mall dedicated to gold traders in Sheikh Zayed City. The projects are being introduced with Egyptian–Saudi investments, forming part of the company’s expansion strategy to deliver a diversified portfolio in the coming period, Invest-Gate reports.
Dr. Amr Zaki, Chairman of EDIC Developments, stated that the launch is in partnership with Saudi investor Rabah Al-Khatib, reflecting the strong confidence of Arab investors in the Egyptian market. He explained that the partnership combines EDIC’s real estate expertise with Al-Khatib’s extensive experience in the healthcare sector, adding significant value to both developments.
DR5 is being built on a 1,500 sqm plot across three floors in Al-Yasmeen 5, First Settlement, New Cairo. It will feature 71 clinics, a pharmacy, a medical laboratory, and a radiology center. Construction began ahead of the official launch, with the concrete structure expected to be completed within five months. The project has attracted key medical partners, including the World Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dentistry, which has leased an entire floor, as well as engineering consultancy AFS, GP, and Medical Algorithm.
Meanwhile, Celestia represents a major step forward in the gold trade sector, being the first fully integrated mall that brings together the largest cluster of gold traders in Sheikh Zayed. Strategically located to serve local and regional markets, the mall aims to redefine commercial centers as specialized trade destinations that add tangible economic value.
Mr. Rabah Al-Khatib, the Saudi investor and strategic partner, expressed his pride in investing in Egypt, describing it as one of the region’s strongest markets. Building on his experience with Global Care Hospital in Riyadh, he revealed plans to invest EGP 2–3bn, with DR5 strengthening the medical sector and Celestia supporting the gold and jewelry industry.
Eng. Mohamed El-Daly, CEO of AFS, noted that the company is developing integrated facility management strategies to ensure the project’s long-term sustainability. Dr. Mohamed El-Alam announced the establishment of a specialized oral and maxillofacial surgery center within DR5, highlighting future expansion plans into the Saudi market. Eng. Mohamed Hamed, CEO of GP, emphasized the company’s focus on sustainability and quality from the design phase onward, while Eng. Mahmoud Lashien, CEO of Medical Algorithm, underscored their distinctive methodology for managing medical facilities. Prof. Dr. Eng. Ahmed Fouad Sabry, Celestia’s consultant, explained that the mall’s modern design was tailored to the specific needs of the gold and jewelry sector.
Mr. Mahmoud Mamdouh, Commercial Director at EDIC Developments, stated that Celestia’s second phase will expand services and investment spaces to accommodate more traders, reinforcing its position as the leading destination for gold trade in Sheikh Zayed.
Meanwhile, artist Mostafa Amar, EDIC’s brand ambassador, expressed his enthusiasm for promoting the company’s innovative projects, which reflect EDIC’s vision for creativity, excellence, and delivering unique customer experiences.
