Minister of Transportation, Galal Said, and his Jordanian counterpart laid the foundation stone for a maintenance project designed to raise the efficiency of the 65 kilometer Dahab-Nuweiba road, Al Ahram reported.

The maintenance project will cost EGP 125 million, to be implemented by the Arab Contractors Co., and the General Nile Company, reported Al Watan News.

“The road is a major hub for transportation in South Sinai, connecting the Taba land port to Nuweiba Port, as well as creating a direct link between the towns of Dahab and Nuweiba in terms of business and tourist traffic,” commented Said.

The project will be implemented over the course of 12 months, added Said.
