Egypt and the French Development Agency (AFD) signed four agreements worth EUR 259 to bolster cooperation in the fields of energy, sanitation and health, Invest-Gate reports.
The agreements aim to fund the government’s EUR-175-mn energy program. They include a EUR-3-mn grant to finance the technical support program undertaken by the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and another EUR-50-mn grant to fund the sewage treatment project in Alexandria. Two other EUR-31-mn agreements were signed to fund the primary health care support project.
The AFD’s investments in Egypt total EUR 941.4 mn as it funds a host of key projects in the country.
