Egypt Builds EGP 49 bn Commercial, Logistics Zones in 11 Provinces

Egypt has set up 18 commercial and logistics projects in 11 governorates, at a total cost of almost EGP 49 bn, Invest-Gate reports.

Covering an area totaled at 368 acres, these developments have contributed to the creation of 400,000 jobs across the said areas, Assistant Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ibrahim Ashmawy confirmed in a recent ministerial statement.

This came during Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Meselhy visit to the Tanta logistics zone, which is being built with investments surpassing EGP 6 bn, offering more than 50,000 direct and indirect jobs throughout its execution.

Internal trade accounts for 19% of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP), with a total value of EGP 1.2 trn, the statement concluded.
