Egypt, Bulgaria Ink MoU to Boost Tourism Cooperation

Egypt’s Tourism Minister Rania Al Mashaat has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with her Bulgarian counterpart Nikolina Angelkova on boosting bilateral relations in a way that contributes to the economic development of both countries, while promoting their tourism sectors, Invest-Gate reports.

The agreement includes articles on developing joint tourism products in the fields of cultural tourism, beach tourism, culinary tourism, among others, according to an official statement on May 31.

On her part, Al Mashaat emphasized on the importance of the tourism sector in both countries and the deeply-rooted relations between them.

Meanwhile, the Bulgarian minister said she is willing to lead a tourist delegation to Egypt in October that will comprise the mayor of Burgas Municipality and a number of Bulgarian members of the parliament, along with a group of investors in the tourism sector.

During the signing ceremony, Angelkova announced the possibility of establishing a tourist twinship between Egypt’s Alexandria and Bulgarian city of Burgas.
