Egypt Cuts Customs Exchange Rate to EGP 16.25

Egypt is to lower its customs exchange rate to EGP 16.25 from EGP 16.50 for one month starting August 1, Reuters reports.

The new rate is cut after four months of stabilization in the value of the customs dollar, Finance Minister Amr El-Garhy says.

Egypt started setting monthly fixed customs exchange rate in January following the flotation of its currency against the dollar in November.
