During his visit to the Turbosan Pump factory in Turkey, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Sherif El Sherbiny, met with Sadat Oglu, Chairperson of Turbosan Pump, to discuss opportunities for transferring and localizing the pump manufacturing industry for water and sewage projects in Egypt, Invest-Gate reports.
The discussions also included potentially establishing a Turbosan factory in the country.
El-Sherbiny emphasized Egypt’s interest in partnering with specialized Turkish factories to bring the industry to Egypt. He highlighted the government’s support for localizing industries to boost self-reliance in essential sectors like water and sewage.
Oglu expressed enthusiasm for increasing industrial and trade cooperation between Turkey and Egypt. He confirmed plans for Turbosan to expand into Egypt, collaborating with local companies to exchange expertise and transfer technology. The goal is to enhance cooperation in pump manufacturing for key infrastructure projects.
Turbosan’s representatives presented an overview of the company’s global presence, highlighting its production of various pumps used in drinking water stations, sewage treatment plants, and desalination facilities. They noted the factory’s use of advanced technologies and modern engineering software.
El-Sherbiny discussed further collaboration between Turbosan and Egyptian manufacturers, emphasizing the importance of meeting local market demands and addressing challenges to investment. Deputy Minister of Housing Sayed Ismail added that the ministry is updating technical specifications and standardizing equipment to promote the localization of electromechanical manufacturing in Egypt.
Turbosan, with over 50 years of experience, has been involved in numerous projects in Egypt, including manufacturing water and sewage infrastructure pumps, submersible sewage pumps and high-pressure desalination pumps.
