Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar has announced that the initial designs for Swiss-based University of Lausanne (UNIL) have been implemented by one of the global consultancy offices to be executed in New Alamein on the North Coast, Invest-Gate reports.

The new 39.5-acre academy, one of the top hospitality management schools in the world, will encompass the main building, dormitories, ballrooms, sports hall, an administration building, and a diverse range of eateries, El Gazzar revealed in an official statement on November 12, noting that the ministry aims to conform to the highest development standards.

Previously in February, a cooperation protocol was signed between the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) and University of Lausanne, wherein the former will build the new branch in New Alamein and the latter will be in charge of operations and management, attempting to pioneer the hospitality industry by offering different field-related educational programs, the minister noted.

The institute will present undergraduate degrees in hospitality management as well as integrated hospitality and tourism graduate programs, in addition to an 11-month executive master’s degree and other fully-accredited distance learning systems.
