Egyptian Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assem El-Gazzar has emphasized the importance of officials continuing field visits of the relevant authorities in new cities to monitor the progress of projects, Invest-Gate reports.
He stressed the importance of on-site inspection to ensure that project execution is going as scheduled and overcome any obstacles.
El-Gazzar also took necessary measures against underperforming companies and has decided not to assign them new projects.
This comes amid recent extensive inspection tours by officials at the new cities authorities of Sheikh Zayed, Capital Gardens, New Obour, New Salheya, New Minya and New Tiba, along with the officials from the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) to monitor progress on residential, services, utilities and development projects.
Head of Sheikh Zayed City Development Authority Ahmed Abdelrazek inspected road maintenance and development works at city entrances, stressing the need to intensify periodic maintenance of landscaping, roads, cleaning and entrances as the city’s facade.
He emphasized the field presence of all officials to ensure proper work and continuously improve urban management.
Furthermore, the Head of New Cairo City Development Authority Ahmed Ali met with Ashraf Mahmoud, Assistant Vice Chairman for Crisis and Disaster Management at NUCA, who inspected ongoing road projects R3 and R4 linking the city’s ring roads and a planned field at the main entrance.
Mahmoud praised the efforts and directed adhering to timelines, specifications and quality.
Heads of city authorities at New Salheya, New Minya, Capital Gardens, and New Tiba also inspect infrastructure projects in their cities.
