Egypt’s Housing Minister Assem El-Gazzar met with officials from a local manufacturing company to discuss cooperation on pumps and spare parts for water and sanitation projects, Invest-Gate reports.

In a meeting also attended by ministry and utility sector representatives, El-Gazzar received a brief from the company about its products, experience, and ability to supply necessary pumps and parts.

The minister emphasized the leadership’s directives to localize industries, saying Egypt’s manufacturing sector has an opportunity to strongly compete in water and sanitation components production.

El-Gazzar pledged ministry support for national firms to provide locally-made project materials. He directed utility cooperation with the company to realize joint success in industrial localization needed for the water and sanitation sector, especially for programs like A Decent Life rural development initiative.

The talks demonstrate efforts to strengthen domestic pump manufacturing and procurement for Egypt’s infrastructure projects under the minister’s localization agenda. Collaborating with local suppliers could enhance project implementation while supporting job creation.
