Egypt Invests EGP 110 bn in New Cities

The New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) has currently invested EGP 110 bn to develop 30 cities across the country, featuring public services, facilities, and housing projects and another EGP 70 bn for basic foundations, reported Al Mal.

NUCA is implementing 487,000 residential units, 2,240 public services buildings currently being developed across the cities by private construction companies, according to Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Mostafa Madbouly.

Approximately 31 rural sanitation units and 31 water treatment plants have been implemented at a cost of EGP 1.5 mn, along with 44 electricity stations.

NUCA has provided 264,000 licenses for residential activities, 14,000 licenses for public services activities, and 17,000 licenses for industrial activities, added Madbouly.
