The Egyptian National Organization for Military Production (NOMP) has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Kuwait’s MEASC Safe Smart Cities to cooperate in the fields of technology, safety, and security of smart cities, Invest-Gate reports.
Under the MoU, both sides will partner to implement joint projects, develop intelligent transportation systems, and establish a smart logistic services center, not to mention teaming up in several aspects related to manufacturing fifth-generation (5G) systems of smart cities, according to a ministerial statement on November 9.
The agreement comes in line with the Egyptian government’s ambitious plan to maximize success in digital transformation and set up high-quality smart cities, and this will accordingly boost investments in human capital and infrastructure, Minister of Military Production Mohamed El Assar explained during the signing ceremony.
Meanwhile, MEASC Chairman Abdulmohsen Al Babtain said the company has already implemented multiple national and development projects across the North African nation, on top of supporting the advancement of infrastructure and smart cities, according to the statement.
