Egypt’s Supreme Council for Planning and Urban Development has signed off on the redesigning of nine areas, assigned to the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), on the North Coast, Invest-Gate reports.
This is part of the state’s Northwest Coast Development Project, which involves the establishment of cities other than New Alamein, the first and foremost of which is Ras El Hekma, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar noted in an official statement on July 6.
According to the minister, the diverse array of investment grabs currently present on the North Coast would have diminished if the situation remained as it is, as fragmentation and sale of plots scattered impede urban development.
The news came during the meeting held between various ministerial officials, where the council also agreed to add El Warraq Island to lands set for replanning, in an attempt to curb the unplanned/random growth of the 1,516-acre area, besides preserving the Nile River, the statement confirmed.
