Egypt Offers Two-Month Grace Period to Claim Housing Plots

Egyptian Minister of Housing Assem El-Gazzar said the New Urban Communities Authority agreed to a two-month grace period from the announcement date for citizens to claim allocated small residential plots, including Beit Al Watan plots, Invest-Gate reports.

El-Gazzar said the deadline aims to facilitate the authority’s efforts and give citizens a chance to receive their land plots, under conditions including the validity of the receipt period, the plot being vacant and not re-offered, waiving related legal cases, and paying any outstanding amounts since the land was ready for receipt.

He clarified the grace period does not allow installment transfers or apply to re-transacted plots at current prices that were paid for, nor to plots allocated under the Ebni Baytak “Build Your Home” program where amounts were refunded.
