Egypt PM Follows Up on Development of Port Said’s Éclat Tourist Village

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has inspected development work at Éclat, a tourist village in Port Said, during a visit to the governorate on Sunday, Invest-Gate reports.

Throughout the tour, Madbouly reiterated the state’s interest in the tourism sector and providing support.

He emphasized the state’s commitment to maximizing assets, especially in tourism, by engaging the private sector in managing and operating such projects.

Furthermore, Madbouly said that Éclat village’s development will make it a highly attractive destination and put Port Said on the global tourism map, especially with the participation of the private sector in managing Port Said’s tourist villages.

During the tour, Madbouly listened to an explanation about the village’s features and visitor services including a brief by Walid Khalil, Chairman of New Plan Developments, about the progress of work on the project.

Khalil said the company has invested EGP 350 mln in the project, adding that it includes building and upgrading 250 hotel rooms and units, 130 residential units, and a 5,000 sqm lagoon.

The project also involved building pools with water slides and renovating restaurants, cafes, shops, waterways, fountains, and more, Khalil added.

He noted that the project aims to increase capacity, improve tourism services, and create job opportunities for Port Said’s youth.
