Egypt Proptech Challenge 2024 Announces Winning Startups at Cityscape Egypt

The Egypt Proptech Challenge 2024, the country’s first real estate technology competition, announced its winning startups during the Cityscape Egypt exhibition, Invest-Gate reports.

Organized in collaboration with the “Proptechs” accelerator program, the competition aims to highlight innovative solutions in the real estate sector, focusing on sustainability and smart cities.

Held on September 25, the event brought attention to promising startups and provided them with a nurturing environment through the comprehensive Proptechs accelerator program. Among 12 competing startups, three emerged as winners, each presenting creative solutions addressing key real estate and construction challenges.

Reblox secured first place for its eco-friendly brick made from recycled plastic, offering an innovative way to reduce plastic waste in the construction sector. MRKOON, which took second place, developed a B2B waste management platform to streamline construction and industrial waste disposal in Egypt. Kennah claimed third place for its tech-based platform that revitalizes underutilized properties for short-term rentals, creating a sustainable model for adaptive reuse in the hospitality sector.

Bedeir Rizk, CEO of Paragon Developments and a key supporter of the Proptechs accelerator, expressed his pride, stating, “It’s exciting to see this challenge launch in Egypt. The commitment of Egyptian startups to drive innovation in real estate technology is remarkable, and we are committed to supporting their journey.”

Rizk emphasized the importance of connecting these startups with both end-users and developers, underlining their potential to transform the real estate landscape in Egypt and the wider Arab region.
