Egypt becomes Africa’s top investment destination for 2018, Invest-Gate reports.

For the first time in seven years, Egypt knocked South Africa from its- long-standing- top spot as Africa’s investment destination, according to the- recently- published- Rand Merchant Bank’s ‘Where to Invest in Africa 2018’ report.

Egypt has displaced South Africa at the top spot due to “its superior economic activity score and sluggish growth rates in South Africa”, according to the press release accompanying the report.

The rating is based on two key considerations; the economic activity in terms of market size and growth as well as the business environment.
