Egypt ranks the world’s second fastest growing tourist destinations in 2017, Invest-Gate reports.

In a new report compiled by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Egypt has featured in the top ten destinations that are the world’s fastest growing. Palestine’s West Bank comes in first, according to the report.

The UNWTO report says that the UK government still does not let airlines fly to Sharm El Sheikh, yet it is the only European nation apart from Russia not serving the holiday resort. However, that did not stop other nationalities visiting the country, which saw a 51% growth in international tourist arrivals this year.

Egypt is on course to welcome nearly 8 mn holidaymakers in 2017, yet that is still below the 14 million visitors recorded in 2010.

Featuring in the top ten reflects that Egypt has the ability to bounce back  against the odds after a string of terrorist attacks, according to the report adds.
