The Ministry of Transportation plans to supply 50 ferry boats along the Nile River and across 18 governorates, Invest-Gate reports.
Following a meeting, held yesterday, between the Minister of Transportation, the Chairman of the River Transport Authority, and the Director of the National Institute of Transport,
the Ministry of Transportation has finalized designs for the ferries, each carrying around 50 to 100 passengers and five vehicles, according to Egypt’s Information Service Center statement.
Minister of Transportation Galal El Saeed studied the project earlier this month and announces, “The ferries will be constructed within workshops operated by the Suez Canal Authority and Arab Contractors.”
