The Ministry of Trade and Industry granted construction licenses to 258 industrial projects in a number of Egyptian governorates and cities, Invest-Gate reports.

The step comes following the issuance of the new industrial licensing law, issued in August with the aim of decreasing waiting time for new projects and limiting bureaucratic measures.

Projects in industrial cities such as 10th of Ramadan, 6th of October, Al-Obour, Badr, Al-Sadat, and Borg Al-Arab acquired 83% of the issued industrial licences, a ministry statement read.

The ministry also said that 900 industrial buildings were recorded in the industrial register in August 2017, compared to 519 buildings registered in the same month last year.
