Egypt’s Annual Headline Inflation Rises in August

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has revealed that August’s annual headline inflation increased by 0.7% compared to a month earlier, recording 14.2%, Invest-Gate reports.

Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) recorded a monthly headline urban CPI inflation of 1.8% in August, compared to 2.4% in July 2018, according to a press release published by the CBE.

The monthly core CPI inflation, computed by CBE, has reached 0.6% in August, unchanged compared to July ’s.

The annual core inflation rate has recorded 8.8% in August compared to 8.5% in July.
