Egypt’s Core Inflation Declines to 19.86% in December 2017

Egypt’s core inflation decreased year-on-year in December 2017, Invest-Gate reports.

Core inflation declined to 19.86% in December 2017 compared to 25.5% in November 2017, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

Core consumer price index (CPI) declined by 0.37% month-on-month in December 2017 compared to an increase by 1.31% month-on-month in November 2017.

The headline CPI declined by 0.21% month-on-month in December 2017 compared to an increase of 0.97% in November 2017.

The annual rate declined to 21.90% in December 2017 from 25.98% in November 2017.
