Egypt’s Housing Ministry Sets Up “Sheikh Zayed Youth Street” Project

Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouly has announced his ministry’s plan to set up the “Sheikh Zayed Youth Street” project, one of the ministry’s development projects in the satellite city of Sheikh Zayed, Invest-Gate reports.

The project aims at providing a place to establish small projects for selling food and beverages, as well as, creating an entertainment outlet for the residents.

The project’s site is yet to be selected, according to Madbouly.

Eng. Ahmed Ibrahim Mohamed, head of Sheikh Zayed City Development Authority, said the surrounding area and roads will be equipped with lighting, electricity, and required facilities, as well as tubs, toilets, sitting areas, and trash bins.

“The project will be announced to the residents of Sheikh Zayed City to obtain outlet permits. A committee will be formed to examine the submitted applications and to select the applications that meet the requirements. A public draw will be held for those who have been chosen,” he added.

Another committee will also be created to monitor the project and to ensure that the vendors comply with specific rules and requirements concerning the safety and cleanliness of the place.

Each user will pay EGP 500 as insurance to be refunded when the permit expires, if there are no reasons to deduct it. They will also pay fees for occupancy and other services.
