Egypt’s New Compensation Law Protects Contractor

The government’s compensation law for contractors protects the construction sector rather than compensating contractors, according to Mohamed Badawy for Contracting Company Chairman Mohamed Desouky.

Desouky mentioned in an emailed statement that the construction and real estate sector is more successful than other sectors in Egypt currently, thus the need for a law ensuring the availability of local production.

He also emphasized the importance of the contribution of private contractors to the building sector, which is largely dominated by government-owned companies.
