El-Gazzar Announces Updates on Land Plot Offering Mechanism

Egypt’s Minister of Housing Assem El-Gazzar has said the New Urban Communities Authority board approved amending the permanent offering mechanism for small residential land plots, Invest-Gate reports.

The authority has a mechanism for immediately reserving plots classified as most distinguished, distinguished, and average through the Maskan program website, following procedures from the first and second offerings.

The minister outlined some conditions that have been updated. The board previously approved permanently offering vacant plots in all new cities to control the market and enable citizens to build homes easily.

El-Gazzar confirmed the mechanism achieved success, witnessing strong demand, and that the board periodically reviews conditions and controls, amending as necessary to maximize access.

Approved updates included removing the stipulation applicants and families cannot previously obtain social housing units or plots. Another amendment removed a clause against allocating previous plots to applicants’ spouses regarding distinguished and average plots.

An addition now bars applicants or spouses from obtaining special or average plots through Maskan before. These conditions apply to the third offering from August 22 to October 21, while other rules still stand.

The third round features 522 plots – 38 in the most distinguished areas of New Cairo, Obour, and New Mansoura.

There are 155 in distinguished areas of Shorouk, Hadayek, October, New Salhiya, New Borg El Arab, New Fayoum, and New Beni Suef. A further 329 average plots are located across Sadat, New Borg El Arab, New Thebes, New Aswan, New Nasser, West New Qena, and New Akhmim. Reservations are online.
