El-Gazzar: Commencement of Land Distribution for Overseas Workers in Beit Al-Watan in Obour City

Assem El-Gazzar, the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, confirmed that the Obour City Development Authority will begin the process of distributing land parcels in Beit Al-Watan in Area (A) of the Eighth District and Area (5) of the Fifth District, allocated for overseas workers in Phase Eight of the Beit Al-Watan project in the city, according to specified schedules, Invest-Gate reports.

In the same context, El-Gazzar followed up on the preemptive measures taken by the Obour City Development Authority in preparation for the winter season. This includes the readiness of the city’s sewage system, the technical condition of the treatment plant, sewage pumps, and their facilities.

Ahmed Rashad, the head of the Obour City Development Authority, explained that 18 land parcels in Area 5 of the Fifth District will be delivered on Sunday, October 22, 2023. Additionally, parcels ranging from 76 to 88 sqm in Area A of the Eighth District will be allocated on Monday, October 23, 2023.

Therefore, on October 25 and 26, 2023, have been designated for those who missed their scheduled delivery dates. Rashad emphasized the need for all required documents to be brought by those who missed their scheduled delivery.

Rashad further mentioned that he and Alaa Hamad, the Deputy Head of the Authority, inspected the city’s sewage pumps to ensure their preparedness for potential weather fluctuations during the winter season.

Moreover, the tour of the city’s sewage system by the head of the authority included five pumps: Pump 1 in the Shabab District, Pump 4 in the Industrial Zone A, Pump 6 in the Sixth District, Pump 7 in the First Industrial Zone, Northern Extension, and a pump adjacent to the second phase of Dar Misr in the Ninth District, with a capacity of 25,000 cubic meters per day.

Rashad stressed the importance of regular maintenance for cranes and pumps associated with the sewage pumps, as well as ensuring the readiness of the sewage pumps in the city. Maintaining the lowest possible water level to accommodate expected rainfall quantities is crucial.

Furthermore, the operation of the three tunnel pumps in the city (the main tunnel, sixth district tunnel, and seventh district tunnel) was ensured during rainfall to protect the city’s tunnels from flooding in case of power outages. Each tunnel is equipped with two pumps and a generator.

Notably, regular cleaning of the sewer line networks and the construction and establishment of auxiliary rainwater drains during ongoing development operations in the city are carried out to protect all roads, axes, and neighborhoods.
