Assem El Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, follows up on the implementation status of the “Zohour May” project, which is being implemented as alternative housing for the residents of the former slum area “Al-Zaraib” in 15th May City, Invest-Gate reports.
El Gazzar points out that the project covers 67.37 acres east of the Ring Road, at a cost of EGP 550 mn, the ministerial statement reveals.
El Gazzar further explains that the 1008 housing units (42 buildings) are underway, with an area of 90 sqm per unit as well as 834 model barns, assembly stations, and a warehouse area. Besides, a number of service projects are being implemented, including a school, a medical center, a nursery, a commercial market, and green spaces.
For his part, Head of the 15 May City Development Authority El Sayed Hammam indicates that road and utilities works are underway, with an average implementation rate of 90% in internal road works and 95% in utility works.
Additionally, he elaborates that the road works linking the city with social housing, passing through the Zohour area, have been completed, adding that electrical works are also underway, with an average implementation rate of 80%.
