El-Gazzar Highlights Egypt’s Urban Renaissance, Works Toward Closer Collaboration with Oman

During a visit to Oman, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El-Gazzar has highlighted Egypt’s progress in city development over nine years under the role of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Invest-Gate reports.

El-Gazzar spoke to Omani officials, aiming to strengthen ties and share experiences in housing and urban planning between the two countries.

Moreover, Omani officials praised Egypt’s quick progress in city development under El-Sisi’s leadership. They were impressed by the big achievements made in a short time and urged more teamwork to learn from Egypt’s experiences in sustainable development.

El-Gazzar explained that Egypt’s current urban growth follows “Egypt 2052.” It aims to double Egypt’s livable areas, and they’re already working on developing 13.7% of the country, twice what it was before 2014. They’re building roads to connect existing cities with new areas.

Furthermore, El-Gazzar talked about Egypt’s efforts to replace unsafe makeshift homes with 250,000 modern furnished houses in safer areas with good services. The government covers all the costs to move people from these unsafe places, aiming to provide a better life.

Also, the government wants to offer home units to different groups in society, helping low-income families by paying for more than half the cost, supporting middle-income families, and making it easier for wealthier groups to access housing.

Notably, these actions aim to be fair to everyone by using money earned to support those with less and improve unsafe areas.
