El-Gazzar Inspects Green Housing Development in NAC

Minister of Housing Assem El-Gazzar visited sites developing low-income green housing units in the New Administrative Capital under the presidential Housing for All Egyptians initiative, Invest-Gate reports.

Located in the New Administrative Capital, the development will include 9,000 environmentally friendly apartments between 75-90 sqm constructed by over 60 accredited contractors.

Citing Capital Gardens City Development Authority Head Alaa Abdullah, the units utilize sustainable materials like plaster that insulate better. Solar panels and greywater recycling systems are projected to save 30% on energy and water.

Abdullah added generous green spaces and multi-use paths to ensure accessibility for all residents, including those with disabilities. Bicycle lanes totaling over five km also improve transport options.

During visits, the Minister directed contractors to accelerate work while maintaining safety and quality standards. Regular coordination will help overcome any challenges to timely delivery.

The project’s sustainable design prioritizes residents’ well-being through the efficient use of resources. If successful, it could inform broader sustainable housing policies nationwide.

Its implementation advances Egypt’s goals of providing affordable housing through innovative, eco-friendly construction methods under the presidential housing initiative.
