El Gazzar Issues Mandates While Meeting Heads of New Cities’ Authorities

Assem El Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, holds an extensive meeting with the heads of the new cities’ authorities, to follow up on the development and implementation rates of various projects in the new cities, Invest-Gate reports.

El Gazzar issues a package of mandates and directives, including setting a plan with specific aspects, and measurement indicators in each city, to rationalize energy and water consumption. El Gazzar stresses that rationalizing consumption is no longer a luxury, after the crisis the world is currently seeing.

Additionally, El Gazzar clarifies that there is no shortage in electricity production, rather there is a surplus of energy. Also, El Gazzar requires the study of the aspects of the energy rationalization plan, including reducing lighting in road axes and government buildings, setting controls for the use of air conditioners, and issuing directives for malls and commercial buildings to participate in this plan.

El Gazzar further calls for setting an integrated plan to manage and deal with waste, as well as setting a plan to improve the environment and forestation of the main axes.

In addition, El Gazzar highlights the need to follow up on the projects being implemented, especially housing projects. Besides, El Gazzar stresses the necessity of committing to the implementation schedule and facing infringements as soon as they occur.
