Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar mandated on January 5 the voluntary removal of all encroachments and building violations on lands and residential units in New Cairo and New Alamein, Invest-Gate reports.
El Gazzar has released four decrees, of which three stipulate the removal of building violations on some plots and more than 25 properties in New Cairo, according to a recent official statement.
The final proclamation, however, addresses building infringements in the North Coast resort of New Alamein, especially encroachments on a 1,190-square-meter parcel owned by the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), the press release noted.
Last October, the housing ministry had issued a frequently asked questions (FAQs) booklet to respond to queries on the “reconciliation in building violations” law, which aims to legalize the status of violators’ properties.
The move was aimed at enlightening and acquainting locals with the newly-amended bill’s application as well as its executive regulations. Besides, the booklet highlights ways of calculating the value for reconciliation in specific construction violations, the minister stated back then.
