Assem El-Gazzar, the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, chaired a meeting on Monday to review the progress of measures taken to enhance labor and equipment deployment, Invest-Gate reports.
El-Gazzar also reviews the accelerated timeline for completing the sanitation development project in El-Hadba El-Olya and El-Hadba El-Wosta, including the expansions of the main lift station in the El-Mokattam area.
The meeting was attended by ministry officials and representatives from the drinking water and sanitation facilities sector. These actions were initiated in response to the directives of the political leadership to monitor infrastructure development projects in crucial and significant areas, particularly the El-Mokattam region.
During the meeting, El-Gazzar received a comprehensive briefing from the head of the Greater Cairo Sanitation Company regarding the progress of various project components in the El-Mokattam area. This included an update on the accelerated implementation timeline, the status of work assigned to each contractor, the number of workers involved, and the types and quantities of equipment being utilized. Additionally, a plan to address obstacles and challenges encountered during project execution was presented.
El-Gazzar emphasized that the sanitation development project in El-Hadba El-Olya and El-Hadba El-Wosta, along with the expansions of the main lift station in El-Mokattam, is being executed by the Ministry through the Executive Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation, in collaboration with the Greater Cairo Sanitation Company.
The project, with a budget exceeding EGP 600 mn, encompasses three key components: the main slope line, the expansions of the main lift station, and the expulsion line. It aims to serve various areas, including El-Hadba El-Olya, El-Tawanyat housing, El-Asmarat, Ebad El-Rahman project, and Uptown Cairo.
